It is said that “Globalisation is a fact of economic life”.

I say, forget about economic life, there is hardly any aspect of our life, be it political, business or legal that is untouched by Globalisation, so how can Bollywood be left behind.

There is one thing that binds Bollywood and Hollywood, and that is TALENT! We have heard how Mallika Sherawat was a little known star (Little known for acting, very well known for rest of the affairs) but now, is an influential personality, for she is representing India on the global arena.

Similarly, we boast of other prominent actors and actresses in our industry who work real hard and make their onscreen presence felt to a level that even the foreign filmmakers took notice.

The 21st century has witnessed various collaborations that crossed borders, be it Akon singing Chhammak Chhallo or Kylie Minogue singing and dancing to Chiggy Wiggy, or Anil Kapoor making his Jhakaas debut in Hollywood with Slumdog Millionaire.

On that note, we present some of our favorite Desi stars who even set the international stage on fire.

1. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

All of us know that Aishwarya Rai has been a Cannes film festival regular since 2002. But, what is rarely known is that she was the first big name to have been associated with Hollywood. She is one woman of substance, her major outings with Hollywood include The Pink Panther, Bride and Prejudice, Mistress of Spices and Provoked: a true story. Well, for one of the most beautiful woman in the world, all this comes naturally.

2. Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan has written by himself one of the most inspirational stories in the form of his journey as an actor. Irrfan Khan started out as a TV actor, and graduated to Bollywood, then also, success and acclamation made him wait, but with movies like Maqbool and Life In a Metro, people started noticing him. And then happened The Namesake, alongside Tabu, and since then, there’s been no looking back. Be it Slumdog Millionaire or A Mighty Heart, The Amazing Spiderman, Life of Pi, or Jurassic Park 4, Irrfan Khan is on a level that only deserves applause.

3. Amrish Puri

Amrish Puri was, undoubtedly, one of the most loved villains of Indian cinema. With his eyes and the depth in his voice, he could carry off any portrayal with absolute finesse. Amrish Puri starred in the movie Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom. This was the only Hollywood movie that he did and the impact of his portrayal was such that, the director of the movie, Steven Spielberg, went on to say, “Amrish is my favorite villain. The best the world has ever produced and ever will.”
